    This leads to higher incidence of vitamin D deficiency during winter seasons. Furthermore, during the past decade scientists have identified profound effects of 25(OH)D on the immune system, pancreas, heart and the cardiovascular system, brain, and vascular and skeletal muscles [83–87]. We may have to wait for few years for substantiating these findings with randomized controlled clinical trial data.
