  • Catalytic N-diphosphonomethylation of amino alkanols and bisamino alkanes using tris(trimethylsilyl) phosphite as a convenient synthon

    2022, Journal of Organometallic Chemistry
    Citation Excerpt :

So methylenebisphosphonic acids with aromatic moieties may be perspective inhibitors of HIV-1 [20], and new quinolyl substituted aminomethylenebisphosphonic acids which recently obtained by us [21] are the closest structural analogues of chloroquine which is currently a possible chemotherapeutic agent against the virus COVID-19 [22–24]. The various aminomethylenebisphosphonic acids have attached attention in the capacity of excellent chelators for heavy metal detoxification [25–28] and promising radiopharmaceuticals [29–32]. Thus the search for convenient routes to new types of functionalized methylenebisphosphonic acids with hydroxyl and amino groups is an area of active study.

  • (2-Formyl-1-phenylcyclopropyl)phosphonates as building blocks for (2-aminomethyl-cyclopropyl)phosphonates

    2011, Tetrahedron
    Citation Excerpt :

For the purpose of the present study, we considered the diastereomeric (2-formylcyclopropyl)phosphonates (Z)- and (E)-6 as suitable building blocks. It is well known that inter- and intramolecular cyclopropanation can be achieved by photochemically11 or transition-metal12 induced carbene transfer from α-diazophosphonates to sufficiently electron-rich olefinic bonds. With acroleins as olefinic substrates, however, these strategies are likely to fail.13
