Study on antitumor activity of parthenolide C-14 derivatives
2023, Journal of Heterocyclic ChemistryChemotherapeutics
2023, Pharmacognosy: Fundamentals, Applications, and Strategies, Second EditionNatural STAT3 inhibitors: A mini perspective
2021, Bioorganic ChemistryCitation Excerpt :Parthenolide (32) could inhibit IL-6-type cytokine-induced gene expression by blocking STAT3 phosphorylation on Tyr705, and prevent STAT3 dimerization necessary for its nuclear translocation [79]. Parthenolide (32) can be now explained the anti-inflammatory activities of European feverfew which have been used to heal wounds for ages on the molecular level [79]. Furthermore, parthenolide (32) also shows that anti-cancer effect on human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cell lines which are resistant to apoptosis induced by tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL) [80].
Sesquiterpene lactones; Damsin and neoambrosin suppress cytokine-mediated inflammation in complete Freund's adjuvant rat model via shutting Akt/ERK1/2/STAT3 signaling
2021, Journal of EthnopharmacologyCitation Excerpt :One of the promising results in this study is the mitigation of phosphorylated form of STAT3 by DSM and NMS. Similarly, researchers confirmed the inverse link between SLs and STAT3 phosphorylation at Tyr705 in cell lines that ceased IL-6-induced inflammation through blocking STAT3 activation and nuclear translocation (Sobota et al., 2000). On the other hand, phosphorylation of STAT3 is under control of active GSK3β (Beurel and Jope, 2009).
