Patients and Methods: This study retrospectively analysed 32 GC patients with a single stage IV factor before chemotherapy and who underwent conversion surgery (R0 resection) between January 2001 and September 2015. The univariate and multivariate analyses were performed to identify independent prognostic factors. Results: The five-year survival rate was 39.6%, and the median survival time was 47.0 months. In the univariate analysis, diffuse-type according to Lauren classification was significantly associated with worse overall survival (p<0.001). In the multivariate analysis, diffuse-type was selected as an independent prognostic factor (hazard ratio=15.970, 95% confidence interval=3.804-67.043, p<0.001). Conclusion: Diffuse-type may be a useful prognostic factor in GC patients with a single stage IV factor who undergo conversion surgery (R0 resection). ER -
