On univariate Cox regression analysis, high TIMP-1 expression was associated with significantly poorer overall survival than was low TIMP-1 expression (p=0.013) (Table II). Multivariate analysis with a Cox regression model also showed that high TIMP-1 expression was associated with significantly poorer overall survival and identified high TIMP-1 mRNA expression as a significant independent predictor of overall survival (p=0.019).
